Make-up tips for oily skin

Oily skin isn't a major problem. In fact, people with oily skin are less likely to develop wrinkles or fine lines and the skin will always remain moisturized, but there are disadvantages to it and one is makeup. It can be somewhat challenging especially when it comes to setting it for an entire day. Let's be real, who wants to spend hours in a mirror trying to perfect their makeup to only have it come off hours later? Here are some tips on how to keep your makeup on point and on all night! First things first, before priming the skin you always have to moisturize and apply sunscreen. Preferably a moisturizer that already has SPF included. You might ask yourself why moisturize if your skin doesn't need any more moisture? Keeping it as a daily routine should be key, because not moisturizing at all can make the skin produce more oils to compensate for its “dryness". A good oil free moisturizer for oily skin is Watermelons Glow Pink Juice. It leaves your skin glowing without leaving a heavy creamy texture behind. Tarte Hydrating Boost Moisturizer does the job and is oil free to top it off. Highly recommended. Also, don't forget to always make sure you allow your moisturizer to penetrate into the skin before applying primer so you don't have a glossy, oily look on your skin after.

A good primer for oily skin is a hydrating and not silicone based primer. Silicone based primers do not sit well on oily skin and that's because they tend to clog your pores and cause breakouts. A recommended primer I'd suggest is Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer. It is oil free, mattifying, water resistant and best of all controls oil for up to 8 hrs. Definitely worth the price.

The struggle is real when your skin is naturally shiny and you want to find a good foundation that controls the excess oils without looking like a glazed donut later during the day. Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place foundation is made to last through the hot and humid weather and best of all, it’s matte formulated known to be lightweight and give you a flawless look throughout the day. You can find this in Sephora for $40 Definitely worth its price. Another good foundation is a drugstore holy grail, Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation. Only $7.99 and the name says it all. This also controls oil and gives you that airbrushed finish and also in the budget.
