Defunding Planned Parenthood: The Effects

Defunding Planned Parenthood (PP) means no more “reimbursements” from Medicare and Title X allowed.

Every year 2.4 million people rely on Planned Parenthood’s services. Going in-depth, defunding will disproportionately affect women of color, women in a lower tax bracket, and women with children.

Many politicians like to mention how Planned Parenthood makes “X” amount of “revenue” when in reality, Planned Parenthood is not centered around revenue but instead provides diverse healthcare of all areas to girls and women who need it the most and the least.

Critical services Planned Parenthood provides cancer screenings, birth control, and safe, legal abortion and deliver reliable, accurate health information.

Defunding Planned Parenthood will not save any extra money for the government because PP relies so heavily on (already) state-funded programs such as Medicare. In fact, if we defund PP, it will cost taxpayers $130 million within 10 years.

So how can you take advantage of the few months we have before the defunding starts?

Good question!

If you are of age (18+), you can go to your local Planned Parenthood and ask for a Plan B and it will of no charge to you. The shelf life is 4 years and you never know when it may come handy!
