Ways to Give Back To Your Community

This holiday season is known for being the time to give to others. Unfortunately, not many of us have the same goods (home, good, money) as others. Whether it is big or small, there are many ways you can add joy into people’s holiday season.

Delivery People

During this season, there are MANY delivery drivers going around the entire country in order for everyone to receive their gifts during the holidays. Especially when they have a certain deadline it becomes dangerous and stressful. In order to provide these drivers with some reassurance that what they are doing is actually very much appreciated, leave some goodies outside your doorstep so they can grab something and enjoy their job just a little more.

Respect!!

The malls, any store, food places, airports, and I can go on and on, will be massively busy and a mess. This season is known to be the busiest time of the year. Every place will be crowded with people. So it is simple to advise others to be respectful. Being disrespectful to workers just makes them feel like crap and more stressed.

Donate clothes, toys, food

As stated before, sometimes we are more fortunate than others. This is the time for

giving. If you have some old toys laying around the house, donate them to kids who do not have the privilege to play with any. Clothing is also a big factor. If you live in Atlanta, this city has one of the highest growing homeless rates in the country. This time of year the temperatures drop significantly. Donate some jackets, blankets, clothes that you never wear. We all know that they probably need more than we do. Food. The human body can only go so long without having food or water in their system. Get your friends and organize an event in which you can distribute food and water to those who cannot afford to get these products.

Help your local ladies.

Most of us ladies know how expensive tampons and pads can be. Along with the medication that is also needed in order to handle the pain that comes along with it. Get with some friends and family and buy some products and donate to shelters with women who do not have access to these products. Along with some sweets and snacks too because we all know how the cravings work.

Be nice

In these times where our world seems to have more bad times more than the good times, it is important for all of us to spread kindness. It costs nothing to be nice. Whether if it is just a genuine smile or a simple hello and compliment; it can go a long way. You never know what someone is going through behind closed doors. You never know if that simple “OMG! I love your hair!” can make their day 100x better.

Also, make sure you spend time with your family and friends. Sadly, we will not have them forever. Make sure you say your I love you’s and I miss you’s. Life is too short to be bitter.

This holiday season revolves itself with the idea of good times and giving to others around you. Make this holiday season count. This is the last month of the decade. Enjoy it!
